1. Through RTA Website
You can easily apply for a driver’s license renewal through the RTA website. Follow the steps below to get started.
Step 1: Undergo an eye test at Eye Test Centers.
Step 2: Visit the official RTA Website and click on the “Driving License Renewal” option.
Step 3: Enter your Emirates ID number and Emirates ID Expiry Date. Your data will be automatically fetched.

Step 5: Pay any previous fines (if any), pay the driving license renewal fee, and submit your application.

Penalties For Not Renewing Your Driving License On Time
If you fail to renew your driving license in time, a fine of 10 AED per month will start to be imposed on you, and it can reach up to 500 AED.
If more than 10 years have passed since you last renewed your license, you’ll need to go through the whole process again, and a total fee of 1,370 AED will be charged.
Validity of Renewed Dubai Driving License
The renewed Dubai Driving license is valid for 1 year for people under the age of 21 years, and for those who are 21 years old and above, the validity is 10 years for UAE Nationals and GCC Nationals and 5 years for Expats.
